Well, there's good news and bad news. Some of my pre-race orders arrived tonight!The bad news is that the coverall suits I ordered won't do the job for pre-race wear. They're a thin, very porous material, not the Tyvek type that I expected. I should have read the product descriptions more carefully - the Tyvek ones cost a lot more. These will still be fine for bike cleaning and painting -- too bad I didn't have them when I was working on the utility room! But they won't stop the wind and help me stay warm and dry before races. I guess I'll just have to wear my usual glamorous pre-race attire (garbage bags).
The good news is that the
cotton string knit gloves are absolutely perfect. They arrived in a big bundle of a dozen pairs. They fit great, are absorbent, and cost next to nothing so I can throw them away during the race without a thought.My new alternate pair of running shoes also arrived tonight! So if I start training in those now I should have two perfectly-broken-in pairs just in time for the big race weekend.
Onward to Goofy!
