Kayaking story
I'm not a kayaker (yet, maybe when my girls are older), but if I were, this kind of event would really appeal to me: "Around Florida in 19 days - by kayak". Sounds like great fun and an enormous challenge at the same time!
My brother and wife are obsessive kayakers, the coast kind. They've been all over the east coast and then up around seattle and vancouver island. It sounds like lots of fun...maybe someday I'll get into it too.
I love kayaking. We only do flatwater but this race sounds like a whole lot of fun. Everything I hear about sounds like a whole lot of fun. I just want to do everything.
I thought kayaking in FL was fun until I kayaked over 3 sharks and saw the entire side of a 12' shark as it whipped around to get away from the kayak. The sit on top- easy to tip over and out- kind of kayak.
However, my first experience was kayaking at sunset and a group of porpoise swam right along side of the kayaks.

I am NOT a kayak person - something to do with having to wear a skirt. ;)

I took a kayaking vacation years ago...Do you know that they MAKE you spin under water before they let you out???? I was screaming!!
