My training buddy David emailed me this: "Okay - just for fun and motivation pick a number between 60-100 and that's how many miles I will ride Thursday. I want to ride at least 60 and not more than 100."
So I looked online for a random number generator, and found this. I told it to generate one random number with the bounds of 60 and 100.
The number it gave me?
96.
This is the kind of thing that statisticians get a chuckle out of.
Update: He did it! He even went further: 103 miles total, average speed 17.4 mph, on a day with over 57% humidity and swarms of bugs. Well done!!!

100 sounds like a well rounded number :)
Well, if I try to be positive I would say. I guess it could be worse by 3 miles and be 99, right?
Are you gonna do it? That's one long ride!
They only time I let fate take over is when I spin for a dinner recipe. It's called recipe roulette at All Recipes.com. :)
No, I didn't do it, though I wish I had! I had the rugrats instead.
103?! Way to go!
I think you are the only person I know who would look for a random number finder on the internet-and yet not have info for me on how to get stains and smells out of shoes-if you figure that out-my bike seat could use some help-it's pond water/pool water/recycled HEED-gatorade-powerade etc (let's just say I had a little accident-the 4 year old kind :) ) and sweat. I think I'm just going to throw it out and break the bank for a leather one-unless the puppy odor spray thing works :) btw we had your June last year-good news it didn't rain from 7/5-9/10.
Hmm, another reason statistics suck.
I only got 71. Which is scary because that's the number of the aircraft carrier on which I served in the Navy (CVN-71 - Theodore Roosevelt). It's scary in a "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" improbable sort of way.
I thought he wanted to do no more than 100 miles. Overachiever.

LOL! I sprayed them big-time with Febreeze, and I think that helped, but it's not GONE....
STOP SNIFFING YOUR SADDLE!!! People are really going to stare.

I agree. That was my worst course in grad school.
Where did you get that photo. I can't believe my brother is in that photo.
Think I would have stuck with 60.
By the way, I was lying about the brother in photo. HAHA.
Actually, I stole the photo off the Internet, like the rest of my photos. But I was kind of wondering about it. It must be staged, because people aren't generally allowed to take photos inside casinos.
