Man you like to number crunch...are you an accountant in your other life? :-)
The only numbers I keep are splits/finish times and I must admit, I count laps subconsciously!

Maybe I should have added some more context - but the numbers show me something important!

Namely, that I believe that I'm way farther ahead toward swimming the IM distance now than I was at this time last year for swimming the Olympic distance (only 9 weeks before the event).

No, I'm not an accountant, but I used to be a scientist. :-)

What is the dif between an Olympic tri and a normal one?

I did it! I ran for an hour today, which I think is about 5-6 miles. I definitely know I ran 2 miles because it is measured for us on the path. And then it is about 1-1.5 to the path from the house. I feel great.

Sara:
Olympic distance is just one of the standard triathlon distances - longer than a "sprint" (which doesn't really have a standard length): 1500 m swim, 41K bike, 10K run.

That sounds like a LOT! Don't do too much too fast!

There is still a lot of imrpovement but i think this is off to a good start.

You motivate me to keep better track of my training!

It looks like you are ahead of the game this year. You have more than doubled your training times from last you. You should be proud!
