How red should I go?

That's my question for Ironman Florida race week. How red should I go? As we all know, red is fast.

I'm debating about the shade, though. Somewhere redder than chestnut, but staying somewhere on this side of day-glo red like in the photo. (My boobs won't look like that either, but that's another post.)

Then again, I don't want to be mistaken for Lucille Ball out there on the Ironman course. Because she's dead.

What's your vote for race day? I'd make a poll but that's a pain. Post your recommendations in the comments.

As I'm from the mid-west, I'm thinking about someone famous. Someone little kids adore. Wonderful red hair. Boundless energy. A nose that could be used as a flotation device.

Of course, the floppy shoes and frilly outfit could be a liability. Even so, I vote Bozo the Clown red.

Bozo aka Bob Bell was my main man as a kid!! :-)

Grew up near Chicago! I always wanted to play the Grand Prize Game.

But I never wanted to LOOK like him....

Wow - on top of all the training, preparation and mental issues that go into an IM preparation, we mut add a hair color decision to the mix!

I did not know that but will add it to my list.

How about just some red streaks? Like...really red. I don't know how you do that, but it would be cool. :)

I *love* that red in the pic. Gof for it, red fades quickly anyway (I know, I tried it once myself, and I was back to blonde in 8 or so weeks).

Wooohooo, can't wait for race day!!!!

Julianne-Moore red.

Hmmmm, red streaks. That could work. I might get some red Halloween hair dye and hope it lasts through the swim and bike, since our hair is covered till the run. Red hair stripes might be fun!

Bonnie Raitt Red for the RockStar You Are. You can skip the white streak.

So I think the consensus is "So red that they won't be able to tell if I don't wear my red helmet".

Hmm. I have to go back and look at the hair color aisle again....

Definitely a little bolder than chestnut - bold but not too bold. :)
