Cutie

Normally I don't let Catherine, one of my almost-two-year-old twin toddlers, play with the computer, but....

Today she was playing with the mouse and presses it up next to her cheek and ear and says into it, in her most charming voice, "HI!" and proceeds with a long string of baby jargon into it as if she were ordering a pizza.

Then later we went to the park. After two rounds on the swings and two rounds attempting the slide (now that Catherine's developed a slight fear of heights she's a little tentative on the slide, but consented to go down in my lap), we managed to get her and Elisabeth loaded back into the double babyjogger without any screaming tantrums. Hurrah! But then I hear Catherine's little mournful voice saying as we wheeled away, "Buh-bye. Buh-bye. Buh-bye. Buh-bye."

Are YOU afraid of heights, Nancy? This is a phobia, a LEARNED behaviour! I picked mine up from my Mom, I think...but I never imagined you as having acrophobia!

that sounds just like the mighty mo. He has four or five cell phones, some old ones that dont work and a couple of toy ones. He actually does quite well on a real phone and for months has spewed baby talk to the end.

his first words were 'bye' quickly followed by 'no no no'

LOL! No, I'm not afraid of heights, except maybe up in the tower in Toronto about a zillion feet in the air out on the glass floor was kind of creepy. I think Catherine has just figured out that falling from a height HURTS, and she hasn't figured out how to avoid doing that yet. At first "Danger Girl" went down the slide by herself boldly, and now she's just learning a little bit of caution, I think. She went down the slide in my lap yesterday and liked it, but started getting upset when I tried to send her down by herself. She'll get back to it, though, I'm sure of that!
