The only supplements I take, because of my diet, are minerals: iron, calcium, magnesium, and zinc. I've taught statistics, and without empirical evidence I'm usually pretty skeptical.

That is an excellent article. Joseph Mercola is the biggest liar on the planet. He lies about everything including his credentials and experience.

Just don't take away my AIRBORNE! I love that stuff. It may be a plecebo but it is a very effective placebo so I'm keeping it.

I've always been extremely skeptical of unregulated supplements - Maybe I'm lucky to have worked in an FDA regulated job, so I understand the dangers better than the average person. It makes me crazy when people (and when I say "people" I usually mean my mother-in-law) go on and on about whatever random magic pill they've decided cures all ills. Once she tried to get me to take 20 pills of blue-green algae a day because she was convinced it would help me lose weight.

I am far to familiar with the DShea Act. Unfortunately or fortunately in the end the FDA will not regulate supplements. The lobby is too big against it.
