Easton, Maryland rail-trail

Today to make good use of the 2.5 hours that Elisabeth is in preschool, I took Catherine over to the rail-trail in that town. I hadn't been on it before. It's a straight level path, pretty deserted today. It was nice to jog on with the single jogstroller (rather than the humongous double-wide) for a change! Catherine was delighted that we also found a playground close to the trail.

The whole thing is only 2.5 miles long, and the drivers in town are not good about yielding to runners (even with baby strollers), but even so, it's quite convenient for me and I think I'll make good use of it in the future!

On the old station, long since renovated, they had an old schedule and some photos of trains posted. In the "olden days" they had trains direct from there to Penn Station in New York, arriving in just about five hours. I wish they still had it running, it would be a nice leisurely way to travel up there!

I just love rail trails! When I visit my relatives in CT, I always make good use of the one near them.

Lucky you! Enjoy!

I wish I could say Wisconsin drivers are better. Since I watched a guy get hit by a driver forcing her car onto a closed marathon route, I am unable to do so.

It's amazing how inattentive some drivers can be. And the near misses, and not so misses, I've experienced make me a lot more observant while driving.
