Finger length

Quick, which is longer - your ring finger or index finger?

If your ring finger is longer, you're more athletic.

Mine, of course, is the wrong way around. Actually, they're about even in length.

BUT! My daughter Catherine (who LOVES to run) has a ring finger a whole nail longer than her index finger. However, her less-athletic twin sister Elisabeth has a longer index finger.

OK, so it might be interesting for chitchat in a bar some time. . . .

OK, yeah so according to your study, I don't qualify for athleticism either!

LOL Spence! (After following your link). I guess if my fingers are even I can go whatever way I feel like!

Mip,
I think different hands may indicate potential multiple personality disorder. ;-) But I'm no psychiatrist....!!!

Ummm, apparently I'm following the wrong path. I'm not athletic. Don't tell my old football, soccer, and baseball coaches. Does this mean I can't have done what I did, or that I would have been better if my finger lengths were reversed?

Actually if you do ulnar deviation with your wrist (hands in front of you; now bend your wrists towards your pinkie fingers) you will see that you can fake it!! Your ring finger will automatically become longer than the index finger.

So just fake it, it's okay if it makes you feel good.....right?

Well THAT explains it. My middle finger is waaaay longer than my ring finger and I am an athletic weenie - but I'm brave and dedicated to make up for it.

That explains why I run, swim and bike so slow - its because my ring finger is too short!

Mipper and I must be related somehow, I've got the same arrangement of finger lengths. At least I've always got an explanation for my back of the pack finishes. Oh wait, I'm just slow. I swear you can find a study that says anything. I'm waiting for one that proves that peanut butter and ice cream is the perfect diet, I'm sure that Jif or Breyers is conducting one now.
