Emaciated models

It turns out that some of the photos of emaciated models that have been making the rounds have been digitally altered for dramatic effect.

Snopes.com shows some of the before-and-after Photoshop photos.

The one to the left is an actual model photo, which looks plenty too thin to me even without being altered. Is there even a single muscle on that girl?

There was a story in the nwes today about a model who died from her anorexia. Worshiping emaciation is a cultural sickness. We need a cure.

I guess I should have looked at Snopes firt but my point is still valid.

Yeah, those photos were making the rounds here too. I know a lot of the modeling business is consumed by being thin, and the model you show looks fairly normal, but the ones in the link are really sick, and I suspected when I saw them that they had to be altered. No way could you dress something that looked like that in a designer outfit and hope she looked good too.

Well, she clearly has some in her face, in order to put on that sexy pout. You know what they say about frowning and how many muscles it takes. I worry so much for the teenage girls in my classes - what are they in for?

Un-Photoshopped, they're still plenty bony. I sure don't want to look skinny. I want to look lean, maybe, but I want to look STRONG. In fact, I want to BE strong. Can't get that way eating lettuce.

Sorry that's just wrong. My 5 year old grand daughter has more meat on her bones and I think she's too skinny.

HBO just had a special about girls in therapy for eating disorders....the preview on MSN was disturbing. I am glad my kid isn't dancing ballet anymore...skinniness was the "word of the day" there.

I just can't believe people find that sexy and appealing. I mean I would like to shed some pounds, but I don't want to seem transparent.
