A solution to stinky cycling shoes!

I don't know about you, but my cycling shoes get pretty nasty. I mean downright NASTY.

I just discovered this stuff: Anti-microbial Febreze. It's a MIRACLE, I tell you, a MIRACLE!

(Unpaid endorsement, didn't even get a free bottle or anything, I just like to pass along the word when something actually works.)

That, and comfort, is why I run and ride with socks.

Years ago, when I lived in the high desert of Southern CA, I used to run with no socks. Those shoes would stink so bad I believe the smell could peel the paint off of walls. My wife made me keep them outside.

Socks have solved those problems.

we buy that stuff by the carton -- it's the only thing that gets the funk out of hockey gear. I wash what can be thrown in the machine at least once a week, and not leaving the gear at the bottom of the hockey bag in the garage helps, too, but yeah, that stuff is pretty good.

I wonder if I could convince the boathouse manager to use that stuff on the shoes in the boats..

The cheap way to do it is put your shoes in the freezer. Seriously.

Interesting, i'll have to give that stuff a shot on some now retired pairs of shoes.
