Back running

Finally got back out on the roads today after 12 days off running completely. Fortunately, I think my no-running strategy was successful this time for getting rid of bronchitis and not having it stick around indefinitely and turn into pneumonia.

It felt good. Time to start catching up on my mileage again.

The only problem today was the cold! And not to my fingers and toes and ears. I have a dental problem right now that makes me acutely sensitive to cold - such that breathing in the cold air gives me a nice sharp ice pick to the side of the face. No fun. Hopefully my "angry nerve" (as the dentist puts it) will calm down in another few days.

Nancy,
Hi, I'm Ryan.

I found your blog during the infancy of my tri days through a link from the Bigun.

I too am racing the B2B 09, and will follow your training leading up to November.

As a side note, I too am disappointed in NA sports in their dissolving of the Clydesdale/Athena classification in IM events. I am currently crafting a letter to NA sports with my feelings on the subject. I agree that with this, they will soon dissolve all age grouping the race will be contested with a sole winner which seems to be out of the spirt of triathlon.

On a happy note...B2B results seem like it is going to be a great event. Can't wait!

Oh, last thing. Really!

Just so you know I am not a newbie, I also enjoy la lantern rouge.

It's so nice to get over a bug and actually feel WELL.
Re your last post - that so sucks. I had to take the organisers of the tri series I like to do to the Equal Opportunity Commission to make them run an Athena class, when they had no trouble running a 65+ women class with no entrants. But as you say, what will be next?

Wow, sounds like you're having your share of obstacles. Good for you for being tough through it all. Hang in there!
