Snow day

We had a snow day today. And the snow was too fluffy and non-sticky so we couldn't make a snowman.

So we played dress-up. Catherine wore the Belle dress (from Beauty and the Beast) that she just got as a reward for kicking one of her, uh, nighttime habits that we've been trying to extinguish for a while. (Fortunately I was able to get it cheap on sale from Disney).

She loved it. The only drawback was that she kept insisting that I was the Beast all day, and that I had to dance with her because she was wearing her beautiful dress.

Don't let the demure appearance fool you. Shortly after this she transformed into Catherine Power Princess who was a superhero who was going to fly off to rescue someone from the volcano.

Versatility is good.

I remember snow days in South Dakota. I'd fire up the wood stove and the rule was, you got to stay in your pajamas ALL DAY LONG. Every meal was cereal. Sometimes, I'd take up the carpet and they got to rollerskate on the wood floor. (It wasn't, like, a polished, nice floor or anything.)

Have you (and your girls) ever read "The Paper Bag Princess"? You should : D
Quite an independent princess she was, smart too!
