Quote of the day

". . . just increasing the amount of mileage that you run, up to about 40 or 50 miles a week, is going to help you get faster. . . . I've never done more than three miles worth of interval training."

-Olympic gold medalist and Masters duathlete Frank Shorter, Masters Athlete 5(3)2008, p. 24.

Oh, is THAT all? Just squeeze in 40-50 miles a week? Why, that sounds so easy! Jeez.

That's my man...Go Frank!
(But remember...Frank wasn't swimming or cycling...so 40-50 miles of running was all that was on his plate! LOTS of rest/recovery time!)

Ha! Yeah, it probably only took him about 2 hours to complete all that, too...
