Great photos of Olympians

Not the usual ones:

Olympic injuries

Olympians then and now - yes, Tonya Harding, her too. I didn't say photos of great Olympians.

Riding country roads

I did an easy 21-miler recovery ride today while the girls were in camp. I brought the camera along and got some more local color shots. It finally rained a bit last night - the first real rain in about two months here! So it was quite steamy and hazy today.
Plus I saw the fawn again! With her Mom, about a quarter-mile from where I saw her before. I'm hoping it's the same one, at least. Again, frighteningly close to a busy highway, along which I was driving when I saw the pair, but at least they were together this time with Mom hopefully keeping baby away from traffic.

Ridin' and shootin'

Did 30 miles this morning, with lots of stops to take pictures of the countryside in this area for reference for potential paintings this winter.

Another bike pic

Here's another pic from last weekend's practice triathlon, looking like a linebacker on wheels. That's probably what I'll wear for Eagleman next weekend too - if you're out there and spot me on course yell hi! (Unfortunately our local CMS club jerseys are either too hot or chafe me, so I don't wear them for long races any more).

Cambridge Practice Triathlon

Today was the practice sprint triathlon with the good folks from Cambridge, hosted at Horn Point Laboratories, same as we did last year.

It was a great day for it with flat water and perfect weather! Unfortunately I'm just getting over this nasty cold and about ten minutes into the swim (after stopping to cough about three times) I realized I was kind of dizzy too, so I decided to call it a day and just take some photos of the other triathletes.

So I took a whole album of photos and put them up here.

Notable among them was Jim C., WHOSE BOSS DOESN'T KNOW HE READS MY BLOG AT WORK. Hi, Jim!!! Love your wheels! HI JIM'S BOSS!!!

Also take a close look at the awesome paint job on this bike in honor of the Flying Tigers - very appropriate for this Memorial Day!

I wish I had been able to get in a better training day prior to Eagleman, but it was still fun to see everyone and get out for a brief swim!

Easter weekend in Ocean City

It was a great view from our hotel room down onto the boardwalk - but deserted because it's about 30 degrees outside.

The girls enjoyed exploring the hotel amenities, including trying to crack the room safe.

They also enjoyed several restaurant meals, and even behaved, mostly.

When they didn't have too many sips of Dad's beer, that is.

The Easter bunny even came to our hotel room!

Yum, yum! The ears are the tastiest part.

We tried flying our Dora the Explorer kite, but the wind was too gusty and uncertain for much in the way of consistent results.

Yes, it was cold all weekend! Grandpa came along and here we all are on the boardwalk with the girls, taking a chilly stroll.

The biggest surprise of the weekend (outside of an April snowstorm) was a very tame fox that lives next to the Ocean City boardwalk and seems not the least disturbed by pedestrians who stop to take his photo!
