Eaglet hatched!

Check back on the Eaglecam that I mentioned a few days ago and you might get a live glimpse of the ugly-ass eagle baby that was just born! If not, there are links to some past photos for your viewing pleasure. Happy birthday, baby bald eagle! Hopefully the sister/brother will hatch out soon too.

This is live from the Blackwater Refuge, about 45 minutes drive south of me, where the happy hatching event is expected about February 28th. We circle through here for the bike leg of Eagleman Half Ironman in June, appropriately, and will be returning in July for Blackwater Traverse Duathlon.
