I met the girls after school today, as I always do, and asked Catherine why she was wearing her "emergency" pants instead of the ones I sent her to school in.
She said that an invisible person came out of her head and sprayed her with water because it wanted her to turn into a mermaid.
I think that's as likely an explanation as many supernatural stories that I've heard.
