They posted the results from the 2008 Eastern Shore Senior Games, so it's official: I'm a gold medalist in my division (women 50-55) in the 5K run and in the 40k cycling road race.
Cool!
But somehow I thought it would feel more special.
Maybe it's because I was also DFL in my division in each event?
But I do like my first medal with a little cyclist on it. Even if it depicts a man riding a fixie.
Congrats! Medals are always cool!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Hey, hardware is hardware. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou worked hard for those medals, enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteThat is fantastic! Hey your really not LAST if you are the only woman in your age group who showed up Nancy. Your still FIRST!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's a lady with muscular legs and her hair in a pony tail...
ReplyDeleteAnd who cares it you were DFL, you were still there and still earned a medal and there were thousands of women your age who chose to stay in bed those mornings! Congratulations!
Wait...that person on the medal vould SO be a woman! It doesn't have facial hair that I can see!
ReplyDeleteWay to go! You did something that 99% of the rest of the people didn't do.
ReplyDeleteYou're a great role model for your kids!
Hardware!
ReplyDeleteYou win, you win!
ReplyDeleteI am competing in my first Tri this year with, to date, one other woman in my div. That might make me not be excited about a possible 1st place win except she and I are pretty evenly matched and she's already done Califorina 70.3 this year so I will have to put the pedal to the metal to beat her. So now I'm happy.
Ha! Yeah, nothing like KICKING SOME OLD LADY ASS!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWooohooo Nancy!!!
ReplyDeletedouble gold? wow. cool. too bad they don't have a super size medal like you'd get if you did Rock n' Roll marys or the Goofy Challenge.
ReplyDeleteBut your a gold medal winner and its an Olympic year. Can you say bragging rights?
Didn't you bring home a medal just a few weeks ago too.
ReplyDeleteAt this rate you're going to look like Mr T before the end of the season!
