Catherine's glasses

We just picked up Catherine's first pair of glasses today (with about 3 months to go until their third birthday). The glasses survived the day without breakage! Actually she was pretty good about having these weird things put on her head. I only found them once forgotten on the floor after she had apparently discarded them. Unfortunately they blend in with the carpet so they'll be easy to step on.

Like everyone told us, she seems to do okay with them! I suppose being able to actually see things close up is a big positive change for her, though she can't really express it.

And yes, they magnify her eyes a lot. I'm thinking that since "Men don't make passes at girls who wear glasses" we can keep buying her really ugly glasses until she's about 25.

I Googled that Dorothy Parker quote and found something about Elizabeth Dole needing glasses at age 3 and her mother weeping about it. How strange.

She looks great! It's okay they magnify her eyes, because they are beautiful!

Glad to hear your loving the weather. Me, not so much. Snow in the forecast, 6 hour trainer session in my future. Ouch!

She looks great in glasses...good thing she was born in this era. When I was a kid, the choices weren't so wide. Remember the black horn-rimmed frames? Eessh!
She will be beautiful no matter what, and will demand conacts by age 11! :-)

She looks very cute in her new glasses. It's great she doesn't mind wearing them. Is her sister jealous that she didn't get glasses too?

With those glasses she's going to be able to tell right away that you're trying to feed her rice cakes. ;)

Glasses are a fashion statement! I have a friend who bought glasses with plain old, non-corrective glass lenses in them, just so he could wear glasses.

I got glasses when I was very young. Didn't wear them and thankfully have no idea how i got through life without them. Lasic is a life saver. She looks way better than I ever did.
